      NUM3 Legume Fallow

      The SFI actions for nutrient management encourage English farmers to establish mixtures featuring leguminous crops. For NUM3, you can use this mixture to produce a legume fallow with flowering plants that support biodiversity.

      Get SFI mixture advice 

         

        Sowing rate 20 kg/ha
        Sowing time March/April or August
        Sowing depth 15 mm (1/2 inch) or broadcast
        Sowing instructions Drill into a fine tilth

        Moist and warm soil conditions (minimum 5˚C)

        Roll before and after drilling for good soil-to-seed contact

         

        Additional comments Where red clover is not included, sowing date can be extended to mid-September. Please note that crops must be established within 12 months of your agreement date.
