Germinal Horizon research has found that multi-species have the potential to unlock environmental benefits while still enabling livestock farmers to be profitable and productive.
Witness the climate smart benefits of multi-species swards
In partnership with brothers Julian and Rob Bowers, Germinal is hosting a farm walk in Shropshire on Tuesday 23rd May 2023. This will let you see the benefits that can be achieved once multi-species swards are established.
Starting on Top House Farm at 2:45 pm, Julian and Rob Bowers will show you their use of multi-species in a GS4 mixture within the Countryside Stewardship scheme. On the farm, the brothers are rearing and finishing dairy calves productively and cost-effectively via rotational grazing on multi-species while reducing non-organic inputs and improving soil organic matter.
